Getting started
Install ClickyPanel, connect your first site, and pin the one you watch most.
ClickyPanel reads the analytics you already run. There is nothing to install on your websites and no account to create - you give the app a key from your provider, and it starts pulling numbers.
1. Install
Download the build for your platform from the download page. On first launch macOS and Windows may warn you about an unidentified developer; the download page explains exactly why and what to click.
2. Connect a provider
Open Add site and pick your provider. Each provider asks for something slightly different, and each one has its own setup page:
- Clicky - a site key, or an account login that lists every site
- Matomo - your instance URL and an API token, Cloud or self-hosted
- Umami - your self-hosted server URL and login
More providers are on the way.
Your credentials are stored encrypted on your machine and only ever sent to the provider they belong to - never to us.
3. Pin the site you watch
Right-click any site in the overview and choose Pin to menubar. Its visitors-online count then sits in your menubar, and clicking it opens the dropdown with every site listed.
The same numbers are always in the app window; the menubar widget just saves you opening it.
4. Set a refresh interval
ClickyPanel refreshes automatically, from once a minute upwards. Set the interval to manual if you would rather it fetched only when you ask.
If you have many sites, Settings → Refresh concurrency controls how many are fetched at once. Lower it if a provider starts rate-limiting you; the app never exceeds a provider’s own limit regardless of this setting.
What ClickyPanel does not do
It is a monitor, not an analysis tool. There are no filters, segments, custom comparisons or query builders, and there will not be. Every site has an Open in provider link that takes you to the provider’s own dashboard for anything deeper.
